Dear Heaven Maker:

I recently lead an 8-week online Heaven on Earth course for a community of Catholic nuns, The Sisters of St. Martha, in Prince Edward Island, Canada.

After the course, I asked for volunteers to answer two questions:

1)  What did you get out of the course?

2)  What will you do to create more Heaven on Earth in the world?

Seven Sisters agreed to be interviewed.

I was moved by what each of them said and by the richness of their entire community.  I’ve been exploring Heaven on Earth for over thirty years, yet their insights and fresh perspectives brought me to a deeper appreciation of our Heaven on Earth journey.

Here are some of their answers to the first question.  (We’ll do the second question next week):

•  I will no longer use the words ‘impossible’ or ‘difficult.’

• I thought Heaven is a place I would go after I died.  After this course, I feel strongly that Heaven is here, that I can create Heaven on Earth, that it’s within my reach. That’s a whole big change for me.

•  Dreams and desires are possible if you commit to them.

•  You can be responsible for a situation even when you feel you didn’t cause the situation.

•  My attitude – it’s important to say I can do things.

•  Not to use the word ‘overwhelmed’ when facing large issues.  Instead, knowing I can do my part in making these issues better.

•  I’ve changed my attitude to roadblocks.  They used to stop me but no more.

•  I thought Heaven on Earth was impossible but it’s possible.

•  I’m focusing on doing the small things in life that are Heaven on Earth…visit a friend, visit a family member.

•  Looking at the sufferings in the world – wars, poverty, and homelessness – they look insurmountable, but with the right attitude they can be surmounted, and ending them can be a reality.

•  I never thought of being a creator besides my God. Don’t put doing something off.  Begin and you’ll be a Heaven on Earth Maker.

• Creating an atmosphere where there is patience, understanding, and care for each other.

• Heaven on Earth is a heart connection where the well-being of each other is nurtured and supported.

Thank you, Sisters of St. Martha.  You are true Heaven Makers.

Love,
Martin
