Dear Heaven Maker:
This is the season for college graduations and speeches by valedictorians.
This speech, however, is different. It’s very different.
The graduate delivering it, Elizabeth Bonker, has non-speaking autism. She typed her speech and had someone else read it.
In her speech, Elizabeth says, “There are thirty-one million non-speakers with autism in the world who are locked in a silent cage. My life will be dedicated to relieving them from suffering in silence and to giving them voices to choose their own way.”
She continues, “What is your dream? … How will you rise up to meet the unprecedented challenges of our time?”
Elizabeth urges her fellow graduates to use their voices, serve others, and see the value in everyone they meet.
Thank you Elizabeth for being a Heaven Maker.
Love,
Martin
