Dear Heaven Maker:
I was recently in Halifax where my friend Luke MacDonald told me about an app he was using called Litterati.
Its purpose is simple. It tracks litter.
You photograph the litter, geo-tag it (get its exact location), say what it is (eg. can), say what it’s made of (eg. aluminum) and say what time you took the photo. Doing that over and over again you begin building up a database of the kinds and quantities of litter on your street, your neighborhood, or, any area you choose.
Luke found that the majority of litter in his area came from one specific chain of coffee/donut shops.
He could have gotten angry at them which would have made him right and them wrong. What good would that do? Instead, he approached the company and now they’re working with him to clean up their litter.
I thought the app was a brilliant idea.
Luke told me he could set up a Zoom call with the creator of Litterati, Jeff Kirschner.
Jeff and I spoke last Friday. His goal is very simple:
A Litter Free World
That is such a Heaven on Earth goal. You’ll remember that one of the Gateways into Heaven on Earth is: Ending a Suffering. Jeff and his team are clearly doing that.

The app is a tool that gives you the power to make a difference.
