Dear Heaven Maker:
It started with a button.
A friend gave LuAnn Buechler a button that said ‘ihug.’
She began wearing it to “warn people that I was going to hug them.”
She appointed herself as hugger/greeter for the conferences of The Transformational Leadership Council, greeting people when they arrived and when they left.
That began her life journey of “I’m a Hugger.”
It all turned into an experiment on how people reacted to her. She’d forget that she was wearing the button and people would come up to her and say “I need a hug.” This happened in hotel lobbies, in airports….”I need a hug!”
Soon LuAnn started realizing ”People Need More Hugs.”
At the same time she was very concerned about the political climate in the US and asked “What can I do about it?”
She decided to spread human connection with a simple hug to counteract the polarization that’s happening in the US and bring people back together. She decided to align ihug with the 2020 Presidential campaign.
A friend told her not to do it…it could be dangerous. A couple of days later her friend called and said, “Donald Trump is coming to town. I dare you to go to his rally.” LuAnn’s response, “I’ll do it.”
LuAnn is not political. She’d never been to a campaign rally and so she went.
In the video she talks about what happened at the rally…with both Trump supporters and Trump protesters. And then she went to a Pete Buttigieg rally and…the same result.
LuAnn has found the human connector underneath society’s surface turmoil and tension. She talks about the scientific proof of what hugging does.
She talks about the need for humanity to come together now and that hugging is a powerful way we can do that. She talks about how this contributes to actually co-creating Heaven on Earth.
