Please watch this short, powerful, video of Leonard Cohen at the end of one of his concerts in Israel.
He honours both the Israeli and Palestinian members of The Bereaved Parents for Peace.
Leonard is a Cohen – belonging to the Priestly class in Judaism. He is therefore entitled to give the Priestly Blessing which he does in Hebrew. Here’s the English translation of the blessing:
The Lord bless you and keep you.
The Lord make His face shine upon you and be gracious to you.
The Lord lift up His countenance upon you and give you peace.
Also, notice his hands at the end of the blessing….he’s giving the Priestly Blessing with them.
After that, some people in the audience yell…Ameyn…..Amen.
