Heaven on Earth goes Mainstream!!!

Dear Heaven Maker:

I’ve been thinking that it’s time for Heaven on Earth to go to the next level, globally.

A week ago it came to me – the theme for 2020 is: “Heaven on Earth goes mainstream!

No sooner had that thought arrived then 4 major concrete examples showed up:

1) Several weeks ago I wrote about a young man, Ollie Press, who was a winner of the the Kiwanis Club of Charlottetown’s Heaven on Earth Leadership Award. (Charlottetown is the capital of Prince Edward Island, one of the 10 Canadian provinces.)

In order to challenge youth to build a better world, the Kiwanis Club offers a cash award and certificate open to every public and high school student in the province. Students are asked to come up with a project that will further Heaven on Earth, do that project, and then submit the results to be considered for the award. The Award information is here (see third tab over).

The interview I did with Ollie, here, was seen by a reporter from the Guardian newspaper, the provincial paper of record. The paper has a regular column called ‘Cheers and Jeers’ which celebrates the good things happening and points out the bad things happening.

This past week Ollie was featured as a Cheer.

2) A man in Canada is getting his PhD in Heaven on Earth! (I’ll write more on that in a future blog)

3) There is a new musical coming to London’s west end called Cliff & Me which features Heaven on Earth. The producer wants to ask the audience the 3 Heaven on Earth Questions, here. The website says: The show holds its aims and values as part of an online global community finding creative ways of co-creating Heaven on Earth.  More information here.

4) And, a couple of weeks ago a woman in Austria, Elisabeth Ziegler-Duregger, held a Night of 1,000 Candles in a monastery in her home town of Lienz. Six hundred people showed up to light candles which were arranged in different images and words throughout the monastery. One of the group of candles said ‘Heaven on Earth’ in German (Himmel auf Erden). Elisabeth also handed out little magic wands that had a star on top with the words Himmel Auf Erden and she asked people to discover what Heaven on Earth was for them by waving the wand. In addition, the priest, in his sermon, asked the 3 Heaven on Earth Questions.

Action You Can Take: Be on the lookout for how Heaven on Earth is showing up in our world…and let me know.

Thank you,

Martin
