Over the years one of the barriers I’ve noticed in speaking to people about Heaven on Earth is an underlying belief that it’s simply not possible.
Oh sure, we have experiences of Heaven on Earth every once in a while, but to really have heaven on earth….nope…impossible…can’t happen!
Why?
People think, “We’ve never had it before. We don’t have it now. And because history repeats itself why would we even begin believing it’s possible? We all know, don’t we, that we have to believe we can do something in order to do it.”
And that’s what I want to talk to you about today.
Let’s for a moment put aside the thought that we have to believe we can do something in order to do it.
If we do that, then a little space opens up…a little space into which I’m asking you to put a little drop of aspiration. And this little drop of aspiration is called ‘Even though I don’t believe it’s possible, I’m going for it.”
You see it’s not necessary to believe that you can do something in order to do it…..what is necessary is to simply do it. Just like Nike’s slogan…”Just do it!”
Have you ever done something amazing and then afterwards you say…”I don’t believe I did that!” Have you ever seen someone you know do something amazing and then say “I don’t believe I did that.”
If belief is necessary in order to do something, how could you or they have done it?
And that’s the secret….It’s not necessary to believe you can do something in order to do it. What is necessary….is doing it.
It’s simple, it’s elegant, it’s easy. You don’t have to wait for the belief to be present…you can start right now.
What is something you’d really like to do, or have, or be….but you don’t believe you can?
Would you be willing to simply begin making it happen? Would it be all right with you if you accomplished it and still didn’t believe you could? Of course it would!!!
Remember….it’s not necessary for you to believe that you can do something in order to do it….what’s necessary is that you do it.
